In a performance for the ages, the sophomore QB ran for 534 yards and six touchdowns in 2A Hemphill’s 77-56 win over West Sabine.  The sophomore also completed 2-of-3 passes for 53 yards and another score.

The 534-yard performance represents the second-highest individual rushing total in state history, only behind Somerville’s Daryl Ellis, who rushed for 587 yards against Thrall in 1998.  That means Twine rushed for more yards in a single game than Texas high school football legends like Kenneth Hall, Traylon Shead, Cedric Benson, Robert Strait, Jaquizz Rodgers and many others.
