Week 12 Bowl Projections
★ posted on November 22, 2011
With the college football regular season heading into its final week, it’s still anybody’s guess which schools will win the Big 12 and Big Ten championships. The Big Ten features four schools tied at 9-2 - two each in the Legends and the Leaders divisions. Penn State and Wisconsin will battle for the Leaders division title on Saturday in Madison, while Michigan State has clinched the Legends division championship.
In the Big 12, Oklahoma State’s 37-31 loss at Iowa State on Friday night opened the door for Oklahoma. The Sooners and Cowboys will fight for the conference title in the annual Bedlam game in Stillwater on December 3. The highlight of this week’s Big 12 slate is the much-anticipated Texas-Texas A&M game Thursday night in College Station in what is likely the last meeting between the longtime rivals for the foreseeable future.
The 2011 Meineke Car Care Bowl of Texas will feature teams from the Big 12 and Big Ten conferences and will kick off at 11:00 a.m. CST on Saturday, Dec. 31 and will be televised nationally on ESPN. The Bowl holds the fifth choice among non-BCS bowls in each conference.
After 12 weeks of play, there are nine bowl-eligible teams in the Big Ten and eight in the Big 12. Two other schools - Texas Tech from the Big 12 and Purdue from the Big Ten - have one last chance to garner their sixth wins of the season this Saturday.
